There are a number of boarding schools across Canada and the US offering the international baccalaureate program (IB). Boarding schools with IB programs offer you a double advantage as you pursue the very best education you can possibly receive.
A closer look at IB Programs
The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) offers three programs:
- The Primary Years Program is for students aged 3 to 12 and is offered at select boarding schools
- The Middle Years Programme is for students aged 11 to 16
- The IB Diploma Programme, offered at many boarding schools contains senior level courses that present in-depth preparation for university and may in fact be credited toward a university degree (or a college degree in the US).

Why the IB program?
The IB programme offers a high quality education that is internationally praised and also gives students a taste of international learning. The IB programme has offered quality education for over 35 years. As you move through the program the benefits accumulate; for example some senior courses are credited equivalent to university courses or college courses in the United States.
"The IB program will open so many doors for me when it comes to choosing universities. The program focuses on school work and on developing you as a whole person — I didn’t find that in any of my other schools."
— Myriam, Ashbury College
